Looking Forward ... Giving Back

History of CACF

Coffeyville Area Community Foundation was established in 2001 as a 501(c)3 organization, receiving matching funds from the Kansas Health Foundation.  Since 2001, the assets of the Foundation have grown to over 5.5 million.  The Foundation has also granted over $2 million back into the community. The Foundation currently hosts 100 funds that benefit a wide variety of charitable community needs, scholarships, and non profit organizations.

The Ewing Marion Kaufman Foundation grant award helped establish our youth philanthropy council (J.A.C) in 2003.  Since that time they have awarded community grants to worthwhile projects in the community that benefit young people.

In 2011, CACF was awarded a seond National Standards Certification from the Council on Foundations. The official National Standards seal signifies our compliance and distinguishes CACF as a smart investment for philanthropists. Intended as a blueprint for internal organizational development and as a tangible set of benchmarks for external assessment of performance, the 41 National Standards address six key areas of community foundation operations:

  • Mission, structure and governance
  • Resource development
  • Stewardship and accountability
  • Grantmaking and community leadership
  • Donor relations
  • Communications

The Foundation also  assists other non-profit and community organizations, facilitates grant applications and works toward fostering growth and development in the surrounding area.
